Eclipse Version 5 Users

This group is for Version 5 users to share what aspects of Version 5 they are using and why.....as well as requests for help as problems arise using Version 5.

I just downloaded Version 5 (a year after it came out), and I feel like I'm learning Eclipse all over again.

Would greatly appreciate input from other Version 5 users.

I had a wonderful time at the Eclipse Software Professionals Network training weekend in Las Vegas. I attended Jeremy's advanced class and learned all about Eclipse 6.  Brenda Rogers and I tested out the Connection Magic feature where I was writing to my laptop, she was scoping my job on her laptop as I was writing, and I could see her edits, just like this link describes:

http://www.eclipsecat.com/content/connection-magic

I am only testing in Version 6, though, and I am keeping my key for now.  Going keyless is just an option.  Jeremy has requested that if anyone is experiencing any weirdness regarding 6, to please send your files to support with a detailed explanation.

Just turning off the Auto Cap in the edit tab sounds like the easiest way to do it.  Thanks.

With eBay, iPhone, iTunes, etc., I global the word with the first letter in the literal brackets.  The actual entry looks likes "{l1}e{l0}Bay" I don't think I have had a problem with it changing it back.

Yes.  You need to turn off Auto Cap under the Edit tab.  Then turn it back on if you're used to it after you get through with this job.  That's what I do anyways.  It will keep it from capping after you uncap it.  I've noticed when I run spellcheck after I've uncapped it, but I turn Auto Cap back on, it will cap it again.  Drives me crazy.

Does anyone know how I keep a letter small that starts at the beginning of a sentence?  Example:

A    eBay is on the list.

How do I keep the "e" small here?  It keeps capping itself.

I'll be there too, Jenny!

Thanks, Jenny.....I'm sure it will be a real leap and stretch mentally.....but, you know, Advantage does have the best court reporting computer minds out there.

Wynne, I agree with you.  The features are different.  I believe it will be a slow transition for most people to get themselves on version 6.
