Thanks for your comment. Sorry it took me a while to get back to you.
I know what you mean -- transcription work can be LOTS OF HOURS TO FINISH! :P
What I do is work part-time (26 hours/weekly), do transcription work very part-time late at night maybe 1 job per week (to practice grammar, punctuation, etc. -- and for extra cash, of course, to save up for school expenses!), and then school. I'll be starting the Simply Steno Program in January 4, 2010, Monday. I'm so excited! :)
It's unfortunate that you quit your full-time job. Do you think they would take you back on a part-time basis? What I would recommend is find a part-time job, do transcription work very part-time, and fit school in there. So your schedule would look something like this:
MORNING-AFTERNOON -- WORK PART-TIME (DAILY)
EVENING -- SIMPLY STENO ONLINE (DAILY)
LATE EVENING -- TRANSCRIPTION WORK (1-2 JOBS PER WEEK)
Does that make sense? Hope so!
Please feel free to keep this dialogue going! And all the best to you, Carol!
Hi Carol. Just checking to see how you're doing with school. 160s are tough. Did you break through those yet? That was definitely my toughest speed. But be encouraged. There is life after 160. You can do it!
Hi, Carol. You can do it! It does seem like when you're in school, there is no end. But if you stick to it and practice, practice, practice, you'll get there. I found out that just having my machine set up and looking at it every now and then didn't count for practice . When I dug in hard, I made headway. Good luck. Let me know if you ever want to get together and have lunch or something. Take care.

Just curious -- what do you like and not like about Simply Steno? Looking into possibly going the online route.
Thanks in advance for any input you can provide! Looking forward to it! :)
