Hi, Julie!

I'm a court reporting student too! I went back to school full-time last year. I'm currently at 160 (one more test to pass into 180!), and I'm trying to graduate by next year (1 1/2 years the most!). What speed are you in? How's school? :)

If you're looking for motivation (as you say in your profile info, hehehe), then please check out my blog -- www.stenonerd.blogspot.com. It's my little blog about going through school, and I use it to encourage fellow CR students like yourself and to just chart my progress, etc. Hope you can find great stuff there! :)

And I sincerely wish you a HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! May it be a great one for you, Julie! :)

Christine

You mentioned that you were in a 60wpm speed class...how long was that for? They started us right into the 80/100 class fresh out of Theory! Most people were only writing at 30-50wpm and the second week of class they issued speed tests for everyone. But even though it is an 80/100 class, we still took our first test at 60wpm and moved onto 80 when we passed one of those. It wasn't like we had to pass them or even come close to passing in the very beginning, but STILL! It was scary! I'm glad that's over with now and I know what to expect.

Hey Julie. Yeah, I started school last July and like it a lot...well, as much as you can like it I guess! ha ha I'm in the 80/100 speed building class (my first) this quarter, and we're about 7 weeks into it. I've only passed one speed test so far, but that was a BIG thing to accomplish! I don't find that the actual speed as far as my fingers moving quickly is a challenge, but the actual Theory part of it coming just as quick is the most challenging to me. There is still so much that I don't remember or I hesitate on BIG TIME. I'm just ready to be done with all of this and really be a great writer! I can't wait until I am able to look back on all of this and think, "it was worth every minute". So, are you still in Theory then? Which Theory are you learning? I'm a Phoenix Theory. Are you wanting to be a CR, captioner, or what?
