The mountains are in Washington State. I am on Slate Pass, the mountains in the background are part of the North Cascades National Park. It's very desolate and beautiful park that is not that well known. I recommend visiting there, but that would be quite the trip for your.

I love that picture, Melia. North Carolina is truly one of my favorite states. We stayed at Pilot Mountain one year during the autumn. I will never forget it. That picture reminds me of it. I think autumn is my favorite time of year.
