Really??? Stenoram II is one of the listed writers in Eclipse! Why would it be listed as available if it doesn't work?

I did use my Stenoram with Eclipse, but come to think of it, it was Eclipse V8, which was DOS. I've used the Stentura and LightSpeed with EclipseNT. (LS works and it *isn't* listed in Eclipse!)

Eclipse told you you can't use the SRII? You said sales rep; have you talked to support? I'd trust support more than a sales rep. Have you either called to ask them or posted on the Eclipse website? That would be my first line of action.

Good luck!

Hi, Stacey.

You get .1 CEU for each hour, so 1 CEU for ten hours, which fulfills your annual requirement for NCRA.

Hi, Stacey,

I was visiting Brenda's page and saw your post about Eclipse. You probably already know it, but I thought I'd pass this little tidbit on.

You can buyEclipse used from a company that advertises in the JCR and save a few bucks. I just bought it for my son in December. Think out the door it was 3100. I think it is Acculaw, but I'd have to do a little research.

Eclipse treats buying from them exactly as a purchase through Eclipse. It is the latest version of Eclipse and comes with the first year of support through Eclipse.

Think it might be only a savings of $500 or so and might not be as cheap as buying used from a private party, but that's the way I'm planning on going soon. I agree with Brenda about a support contract -- especially right out of the chute.

Good luck!

I just need somebody to push me off the ledge. My support contract was up with Procat last month, so I'm honestly looking at the $500. for support making the 3100, 2600.

To me it really sounds like a great deal that way. :)

My son worked in court late on Friday, got home about 7:00 (West Coast), and had a software question for Eclipse. He picks up the phone, gives his name, and, no kidding, a tech called him back within minutes.

Hi, Stacey. The current Eclipse version is 4. 4.2, I think, but it is 4. So that has Global Magic and Translation Magic and Auto Brief. I recommend getting and staying on a support contract. The expense is well worth it (this from one who had let it go for a few years and had fallen behind in the technology due to it).

Thanks for the kind words. I don't know that I know so much more than others -- I just talk the most. ;)

Hi Stacey,
I'd love to go to New York or New Jersey. I've never been to either place and have always wanted to go. I suggest New York every seminar, but it's too expensive. If you know of a place that is reasonable, approx. $150) and has conference rooms, let me know. Our management company is looking for places in 2010 so I can pass on the information. I hope we'll be able to see you in either Anaheim or Florida. Please don't switch software because we haven't come to New York and New Jersey. We're trying.

Hi, Stacy.
Zeik is a BIG baby. He's a sweetheart. It broke my heart when he wasn't able to live with me. I have had him since he was six weeks old and 20 pounds. Now he's about 200 pounds. My friend Beth saved me from having to give him up so he lives with her, her husband, daughter, three cats and dog George temporarily. They get along wonderfully. I still don't know why your name is so familiar to me but thanks for responding back. Reporting over 25 years, wow. I hope I make it that long. :-) Are you a freelance reporter or an official in NJ.

Hi Stacey,
Your name sounds so familiar to me. Have you ever lived in Panama? Where did you attend school? Anyway, if not, nice meeting you.
