Has anyone purchased or used the new diamante? I have mixed feelings after using it for a week now, some pluses and minuses. Not sure if the minuses are just me or the machine, which is why I'm searching for reviews.

Yes, it will be interesting to see how this diamante comes back from write support. Strangely, they are telling me that they are getting positive feedback and everyone is thrilled. Could it possibly be just me??!! We'll see. Thanks for your comments. Jayne
I have a very light touch too. I'm not into being a beta tester, so I'm going to lie low on this one for a while.
(I did love the big screen on it. Helps with these aging eyes of mine.)
I just really question the individual keys having no adjustments. It may be my ignorance, but it just is a tough concept for me to grasp -- especially since we all are so different in our writing styles.
I have to share that my first Mira was a complete lemon. I got so frustrated after sending it in a couple times, dealing with a Mira loaner that broke, too, in the middle of the court proceedings, etc., so I ended up with it at a NCRA convention, sat down in the exhibit booth and said, "Does anyone hate this machine as much as I do?"
They quickly responded, shut me up, and the top CEO got involved and treated me like a queen. He was wonderful and got me all fixed up. So I have to say I was very satisfied with my customer service and wouldn't hesitate to buy another Stenograph machine -- although I need one with no stacking issues.
I hope it all works out for you. It is such a big investment, and there's nothing more frustrating than a machine that doesn't write what you tell it to. Our job is hard enough without that headache.
Yes, I found I was stacking more and if I did not take my fingers completely off the keys between storkes or depressed them ever so slightly, it was recording steno. For example the first word of the Q or A was stacking with the symbol. The tension and depth stroke know only appears to have three settings and I didn't notice any difference in my writing between settings. Also, my machine would not tilt forward, only flat like a piano or backwards. It has been sent back to Stenograph. I may have a lemon. Who knows. It might be just me. I have a very light touch, but I never had this much stacking with the Mira or the same sensitivity with the Mira. I thought this true touch intelligence would take care of these problems. When I wrote "that" it was coming out as THREAT in steno. Obviously never had this problem before or I would have put this outline in my dictionary. Quick phrase like "he is not" were coming out in one outline. Very frustrating. On the plus side I did write for 11 hours the other day and wasn't very tired.
I test drove it yesterday. I thought the touch was the same as my G2 Mira. I was hoping for a much softer, shallower stroke.
Of course it didn't have pads and wasn't tilted to the umpth degree, like I have become accustomed to. Actually, the built-in tilt didn't allow it to tilt to the degree I like, so I was told I would have to have the built-in tilt removed and use a tilting tripod still.
Do your minuses have anything to do with realtime tran rate??
I am curious about stacking, etc., especially with no key adjustments.
