Hello, everyone! I just for some reason am having a problem remembering the exact procedure for identifying exhibits. Is it when the exhibit is first mentioned (i.e., I'll have this marked as Exhibit Number 1) or is it when they actually talk about what the exhibit is? I appreciate all of the help!!!

Depo, we mark as they are discussed. Grand Jury, marked when we mark them...usually at the start in a lump...and received in gets a parenthetical also when they receive them in. I use the Case indexing also. Love it!

Sometimes they have exhibits marked before the depo even starts, then talk about them through the depo. In that case, I show when they're discussed, since having Exhibit Nos. 1-100 marked on page 4 isn't very helpful.

Erica,

I usually put my exhibit blurb when they say "I'll have this marked," etc., and I have a code as part of the blurb that then creates the index. Before they say to mark it, it's not clear whether they'll even mark it at all. Hope this helps!
