Hi,
Thanks for the B-day Wishes! When I was in my senior year I wanted to go for Vet Tech, but then I found out about court reporting. There wasn't really jobs for Vet Tech around here and my mom works in a law office. I was really interested in it. It's not an ordinary job, and I like the flexible schedule and the interesting cases I could get. I'm a hands on person, so I hope this will be my job for life! Also can't forget about the money!!! I will have to check out your blog for sure! I know I will be hitting some walls pretty soon with speed, it's getting kind of stressful!
Checked out your blog. Very nice page. What theory are you? I'm Phoenix, but looking to incorporate another one into my writing.
I read your post from June about carpel tunnel. how are your hands? I had trouble with mine a few times and came out of it ok with a little TLC. Cold/heat/cold/heat type thing.
Oh yes, lots of sun. There is a whole department at the supreme court and one a year ago we are doing realtime in criminal and civil courts. It is quite a challenge!
Whoa, Christine! What a cake!
I should come out of hiding more often!
(Eyes rolling up, smiling.)
Okay, officially out of h. now.
But watch out, I may talk too much!
You all are incredibly warm. :-)
This was the best cyber-birthday!
Thanks SO MUCH for the Birthday wishes, I'm so sorry I haven't seen it until now, or your other comment. I'm at 140 wpm now, trying hard to move ahead. I'm starting a new job in a week closer to home, hoping to have more time to practice. I just attended my first CR conference here in NJ on Sunday, it was very enlightening. If you haven't gone to any CR conference yet, try to get to the next one near you. I tried out professional machines and learned about some of the realtime software, and most importantly met working CRs. Let's keep in touch as we progress!
Do me a favor and send me a sample of your work to reidrobbins@aol.com. I will look them over and forward them on to my office manager. Doesn't matter what the job is; mainly want to make sure it will be readable (s). Locally, I would just try to look over the work as it was being done to make sure, but long distance makes that a challenge. I hope we have a long working relationship. You are doing all the right things to do well in reporting; both in developing your transcription skills and making contacts. I know you will do well.
OMG, Christine, I just checked out your photos and saw a map of Philippines. Some of our best friends are from Philippines.
My boyfriend plays pool professionally, and anybody who knows pocket billards is well aware that the Filipino players are the best in the world.
We are good friends with Efren Reyes, Francisco Bustamante, Jose Parica, Santos, Ronnie Alcano, and Alex Pagulayan. In fact, Jose Parica and my boyfriend, who's from Califronia, used to travel together to various professional tournaments.
We have not been on the tournament trail in recent times, due to this ball-and-chain job of mine. I miss seeing all of those guys.
Thanks for the good luck wishes on this accented speech transcript. It is a toughie. The topic is medical: probiotics, prebiotics, and irritable bowel syndrome. Man, I am so glad to be done with this job. LOL
Yes, I do. I am going to Downey, and it is great! I actually came from South Coast College but got really expensive. I will look at your blog after getting my rest (and practice:)...have a great day!
