Hi, Kelli ~ I did get my Diamante adjusted where it's working well now.  Did you resolve your splitting/stacking issues?

I know we all want to cut back on things we bring with us to the job, but I'm so much in love with my Mimo monitor for my ABs, that I bought a smallish Belkin powered hub so I can plug everything in.  I use my computer's USB ports for my Stenocast pod, my Infinity Ergo cable, and my powered hub.  My hub gets my flash drive, Mimo monitor, and the docking ball that I plug my Sound Professionals mic into so I can stretch it way out in front of me.  The sound is great!

my Sound Professionals mic is plugged into my powered usb port.  Call the company.  They've been very helpful.  I'm running out the door here.  Good luck!

Have fun at your convention!  We spent a few days in Carmel last Sept.  We love it there!  It's very dog friendly!  Go to eat at that Daemetri's (don't know about the spelling.)  Also, we loved our day trip to Earthbound Farms and the salad bar and such.  Drove down to Big Sur in a lot of fog!  Stayed at the Forest Lodge owned by the Lamplighter Inn.  Awesome place!  We stayed in the loft room.  There's only a few rooms there at the Forest Lodge.  They have a great happy hour around the beautiful firepit at the Lamplighter every night.  Just tell Melissa I sent you, Denise.  I brought her a lovely gift --- she better remember me!

I know you're going to Monterey, but if you do get to Carmel, just some suggestions.

I wish I could recommend someone whom I've used, but, unfortunately, I'm on a different system.  I did put the word out to my colleagues, though.  One has already gotten back with me and will be contacting you.  Who is the scopist they will be proofing?

I'd love to do some proofing for you, of course, but I understand why using someone with the same software - especially on a daily - would be beneficial.  Let me ask around for you.

Thank you so much.  I'd better get practicing!

Hi Kelli, I just joined CSRNation, although I've been lurking for awhile now.  I am a student finishing Theory and loving it!  However, as I've researched more and read forum after forum of Court Reporters, I'm a little concerned.  It seems to me that people are being cheated, or treated as an overpaid secretary and that there's very little work, and that people are seriously concerned about recent legislation making court reporting obsolete.  The schools (of course) have nothing to say but that there's a very severe shortage and you'll be rich, etc.

I'm in Napa, and I'm wondering if you could comment briefly on the work situation in the Bay Area and the discrepancy between the schools gushing and the actual reporters grumbling.

I know you don't know me and I'm presumptuously asking for your time, but I'm an online student and don't know anyone else I could ask.  Thank you.

I can get you some names, but I can't personally verify how good they are.  I can tell them you want references when they contact you.  That should help.  Do you want me to ask around?  If so, what's your e-mail address?

Thanks Kelli.  That helps a bit.  I'm sure once I've been here a while and played with it a bit, I'll be able to figure it out!  :)

I do know a few proofreaders, including myself.  Are you looking for someone who can make their proof marks in Eclipse or another way?   Let me know for sure what you need and I can pass on your information to a few scopists/proofers I know.  I'd be glad to help you find some people!

The confusion was after joining the group, it says press "send" and I didn't think i should send a blank box so I filled it in.  Just didn't understand the procedure.  It's a bit confusing initially.

Thanks

Thanks, Kelli.

I'm sure I'll figure it out.

I'm confused.  I thought I was instructed to post something.  Sorry.  I don't know how this works.  Where can I read instructions?

Okay, will do.  Thanks, Kelli.

Hey, Kelli.  I'm not too good at navigating the forum, following the threads, and wonder how I got into the chat room<g>.  I'm only getting e-mails recently when new members join and the one when you posted on my page, which I have now fixed and responded to. ;-)

Hi, Kelli.  Off the top of my head, I don’t have a specific name.

I’m a scopist using Total Eclipse 4 or 5, with or without audio.  The information used to be on my page back when you originally started the forum, so it must have gotten lost in the transition of updates.  I found a sample transcript from you, looks to be about five years ago, so we must have been in touch at some point.  I’m in the middle of a rush job, so I better get back to it.  Have a great day!  Marjorie

If it wasn't for this particular agency, I wouldn't take it.  I'm already sick, and we haven't started.  Talk about stress!
