Hello, Leah
I've worked in the Bay Area now for about 12 years. I think the best place to be to get work would be the Bay Area. I'm always busy, however, I've been reporting for 25 years and have a lot of experience. Being new, your options are a little slim until you get some experience, but it's a great job. I don't think you'll get rich, however.
I do own my own home, actually two of them in the Bay Area, which I was never able to do working in Nevada as a reporter or even Southern California. Bay Area reporters do quite well. I say stick with it. When you get out, it might be hard at first, but there are always Worker's Comp jobs and personal injury depos you can take, and maybe some hearings; great way to get experience. Good luck to you.
