Hi, All,

Not sure if anybody has been able to get their hands on Stenograph's new machine, but I just spoke to two of my reporter friends that are at the NCRA convention in DC and apparently reporters are going crazy over this new machine and its capabilities. Apparently, the reporters want them so bad that they are "yanking them off the showcase floor," as my friend puts it, and buying the demo machines. They say its unbelievable and it's a light as a pillow.
Since I just bought my Mira a few months ago, I was offered the machine for a grand. I was hesitant because based on the video I saw, it didn't look too much different than the Mira. Well, I got confirmation today that it tops the Elan Mira. Looks like I'll be handing over a check to Stenograph for $1000!

Awesome. We'll be expecting a review.
Hey Matthew,
I just wanted to say that you are correct. It is a pretty cool machine. It kind of makes me want to go back into court reporting with all the new items. I love writing on it and have been doing so every day since I got it. The color is nice too. I like the Blue Ice but most guys like the gray.
I'm here at the convention in D.C. I tried out the Diamante during a meeting I was attending today, and I was impressed with it. It is smaller and lighter than the Mira. The touch is beautiful. The screen can be slanted back so that it doesn't stick up so high.

It's a nice machine.
Can you stick it under the table or does the screen get in the way?
Kyung, the screen does not get in the way. It's not as big as it looks. I was told it's very light and the tripod is as well! My friend told me that in 20 minutes of opening the exhibit hall, all the demo machines on the floor had been sold!! One reporter even took out an envelope and paid in cash!!! LOL
Tripod weighs 1.75 pounds and writer is 4.5 pounds. Lighter than my purse and I am talking about the big purse.
The rep. from Stenograph said that the machine, itself, can tilt instead of using a tilting tripod.
Janet ~ Now the real question; after playing with the Diamonte, which do you prefer: LS or Diamonte??
Stenograph is already back ordered on the machine!
I just watched the video. This is a very nice machine. I wish I had one. Wow!
Hi, Matthew. I didn't pay in cash, but I did pay in full for my Diamante today. It IS light as a feather, but writing on the machine is an absolute dream. I'm not a key-pounder, and I like a very short, very light stroke, which is what the Diamante is. It's seriously back-ordered and won't be here for a couple of weeks, but then ... two Christmases this year! I know there are a lot of bells and whistles that come with this machine, but I don't really use any of them, even on the Stylus and Stenturas that I write on currently. I buy machines for the touch and feel alone. The touch and feel of this machine is wonderful. Even coming back and hitting a few strokes on my double-shimmed Stylus was no comparison to the Diamante. Of course, if I put it into everyday use and end up hating it for some reason, or something goes wrong with it or whatever, I'll be the first in line to share all of that ... but I don't foresee any problems at all with the writer. In fact, I think there'll be less problems with this writer than with the two I'm currently using. And because of the way the machine works, I foresee less machine-caused stacking than with my current writers. There's nothing that can be done about self-inflicted stacking, but I do believe this machine will do away with a lot of even that. I'm very optimistic about the Diamante!
