What compression settings is everybody using and are you happy with the output?
My work computer just crashed and I'm trying to get a new computer up QUICKLY before I burst into tears. Any help on what's the correct audio compression is greatly appreciated.
Oh, yeah. I got this suggestion from Keith. Figure if it's good enough for Keith . . . :)

I hear ya.
Only problem is the ONLY laptop I have sitting around that I can potentially use for tomorrow's depo has Windows 98 and Eclipse 3.2.0.1 on it. It doesn't have the SPEEX options. I'm about ready for the funny farm over here with my computer problems.
Before I started using SPEEX, I was using PCM - 11.025kHz, 8 Bit, Mono at 10 kb/sec. That worked well, but it was on the huge side.

Had to run out to Fry's and buy a new computer. Thanks to the WONDERFUL tech support at Eclipse, I'm up and running again on my brand spankin new computer. Yippee!

Oh, yeah, YAY! With tech support and HAVING A CURRENT COPY OF MY DICTIONARY and a CURRENT SUPPORT CONTRACT, it turned a lemon into lemonade.
I purchased a computer that has, at this time, Vista, but I have the ability to "downgrade" to XP Pro. Can't get everything done at once, so I have to go to my job with Vista tomorrow. We'll see.....
