Oh, and I have to share a Clay story. (Sorry, Clay.)

He goes to San Diego yesterday for a firm out of L.A. Says he's the first to arrive. It's a gorgeous building, 11th floor downtown SD. The conference room looks out over the ocean.

So he sets up, and he didn't tell me the exact number of attorneys but said it was either an O & 4 or 5. (Funny how depo reporters talk in copies.)

So he says five minutes before the depo is to start he gets a phone call from his agency:

"Where are you at?

"I'm at the job.

"The receptionist from the law firm just called and said you weren't there.

"I was the first one here."

They thought he was one of the attorneys when they escorted him into the conference room. HA!

Guess he's not the stereotypical female CR. :)

I won't ask for another rub. I'm thinking he's probably getting a bald spot by now. :)

Just finished rubbing Gromit's tummy for Cathryn and Monica!

Will try to get Oakley dictating in videos end of this week!

Glen,
You're welcome. Glad giggles were had.

Monica,
Oh, my gosh. Great link! Thanks. I loved the quadruplet laughing, (they are darling) but can you imagine when they're not happy -- yikes!

Alexis,
I tried to find some of the funnier ones that I have on a CD on U-tube but was not able to. There are some even funnier ones. The "Hooked on Phonix" is quite good but wasn't up. I will send you a post.

Mark,
I love Gromit's guest appearance. Just darling, as usual!! LOL!! My Gromit (our yellow lab with the same name) was paying particular attention when you were talking to your dog. She couldn't figure out who was saying "Groommmit."

Also, MORE Oakley, please. (Said in a nice, not pushy tone) He does such a good job!!

Yes, I need to have Gromit's tummy rubbed for me, too.

Thank you.

It's important to learn ~do with ~did. Because the shapes are similar:

~did -RMS
~didn't *RMS
~did not -RMSZ (new invention!)

~do -RJS
~don't *RJS
~do not -RJSZ

These are remembered BY SHAPE, not by letters.

did UPPER
do LOWER
contraction: asterisk
+ not: add -Z

And last....

~doesn't *RJSZ

FWIW, it seems that the post I was responding to in my last post disappeared.

Just wanted everyone to know I wasn't opining in response to nothing.

Well, I did something similar. When I was in CR school, Bay Area schools were disappearing with the speed of light. In addition, I was online and lurking the real world of CR before I was out of theory, and it bore no relationship to what I was hearing in school. I had serious questions about some of the admissions policies and various other practices, notably treatment of staff, of the school where I landed after my first school folded. I also was starting to question the 2.5-3 hours a day I was spending commuting to that school (which BTW died a lingering death in the two years after I left). So yes, for the most part, I taught myself, something I do not encourage now that there are online schools around. (Please, no emails about this.)

But that wasn't cut-and-dried. I was able to attend some classes taught by a former reporter, and I did drop into school for a few months here and there to get live dictation. I am forever grateful to those officials who let me sit alongside them in court so I could see what was needed and focus my self-guided plan accordingly.

However, I think the WTG is to find a respected online program and see what you can work out with them. Definitely make it clear that you want to work with MS theory, and see how they react. That alone IMO will tell you volumes about the school and whether it is worth your time and effort.

And this all assumes that you are not one of those students who asks plaintively, "But how do you make yourself practice?" It's my strong opinion that you need to be way beyond that before you undertake such an effort of working on your own, even with an Internet-based program.
