Are there currently any online schools teaching Stenomaster theory?

I am asking this question for a student (no current theory stated) in their 140 wpm speeds who is looking for advice about switching to an online school.

The 2 schools highly recommended so far, Prince Institute and CCR in Indiana, both teach Phoenix Theory (although CCR allows both allow transfers in of students of other theories at appropriate, testable levels).

I will ask the student what theory they have learned, but I sincerely believe Stenomaster is better all the way around.

If it is Phoenix, would they be better off graduating with it or switching now?

If -RJS is -do then is there a right hand steno for -done ?

And for -RJS , is there an easy way to remember it, other than brute memorization and doing it over and over again?

Finally, Lisa O., glad you like it!

There's much, much more here, as I'm sure you are discovering.

I hope maybe you'll invest in Magnum Steno, if you haven't already.

Thanks Kathryn. I'll give those briefs a test drive this weekend.

I can see how easily my post could get buried. MSC has been pretty lively and we all seem to be a bit chatty lately. Is it something in the water? Or, Monica, perhaps word got out that we're drinking brandy instead of Kool-Aid. This is such a great group!

Brian Regan's UPS clip is one of my favorites.

Christine and Tami ~ have fun at the beach. Hopefully the weather is good. We've had lots of thunder and lightning all morning long.

Christine --

Funny stuff, those Brian Regan links! Thanks for the giggles.

Monica,

That's an interesting comment on one way you use to remember some briefs.

My theory taught wonderful - WUFL
and beautiful - BEAUFL

Well, to this day, nearly a decade later, I still remember them by actually saying the words as pronounced in steno. And for these two words, I don't just say them to myself, by I actually say them in conversation with others in steno.

Most people don't even blink an eyebrow or ask what I've said; they understand it without question.

LeAnne,

Thank you. That worked.

Of course, I also had to resign in to this site after doing that so that I could once again also post messages.

Strange, I'd checked everything else, to no avail, but was afraid to do this until you suggested it.

Again, thank you.

In this industry, a good laugh is sometimes what will get you through those long days. Here are some of my favorite Brian Regan clips: (but they're all pretty funny)

Don't know why they're not hypertext. But if you cut and paste, they will work. Here's to laughing with ya :)

Brenda,
That same thing has happened to me twice. It automatically kicks you off the "follow." I was actually thinking the group was silent for days. Then I went "Hey, wait a minute. NOT possible." Then I looked forever on "My Page" to follow again. For anyone who is a simpleton like me, the "follow" is at the top of this "group," not your home page.
Comment by Brenda Rogers on September 12, 2009 at 11:10
I've missed so much! I rely on my email notifications, and somehow, I wasn't "following" for the past couple days (at least). There's a link on the emails to stop following. Not sure if I hit that on accident or not, but if you're not getting alerts you're expecting, check to see if Follow is available at the top of the page here.

Now to catch up! :)

I love the -RJS reference, LeAnne. Like Jill, I think I can remember it that way a whole lot easier.

Googling Brian Reagan right now, Christine.
