Gary, check at the top of the page and see if you need to recheck "following." I notice sometimes I have to re-sign up. Not sure why.

Monica,
I LOVE your hooked on phonics reference. That is perfect.

Side note: Brian Reagan is a very funny comedian ( try googling him). He does a piece that makes reference to hooked on phonics. Maybe funnier to a court reporter than those who are not as emersed in the phonetic world.

I am no longer getting email notifications of comments posts to this group as of some point yesterday.

Any ideas? Appreciate the help...

I like the concept of the "hand shape." But I also like saying and thinking and feeling RJS as opposed to that other frightening long-looking outline...:P

Maybe the Magnum Steno Motto should be "Talk to the hand." I find more often than not I am required to feel shape than language.

Try to think of it as RJS. It's not quite as mind-boggling that way.

Yes, Lisa, I'm sure Mark has a "do," but my book is in the courtroom right now, and I haven't learned it yet. I'm sure someone will pipe in with it.

Still kicking around Cardiff on Sunday, Christine. It sounds like so much fun. I'll call you if I can make it happen. :)

Working on my dictionary right now. The "as you sit here" phrases are really working for me. I hope I'm not asking a really silly question for which the answer is REALLY obvious, but here goes:

How do you write "as we sit here" and "as we sit here today" phrases? Just listened to dictation with those phrases constantly coming up and then listened to some literary with lots of Middle Eastern names...huh?...dear in the headlights...what the?!? I FROZE for a second.

Thanks for the FRUK, Kathryn! Just added it. :)

Kathryn, nice!! You thought way ahead, unlike I did.
