Why did Microsoft make Windows 8, period? I understand the concept of touch screen, but maybe they could leave that for other devices. How many people would use a touch screen on a desktop, for example?
Yeah, I saw that on YouTube and downloaded it already. Super easy and now I can at least turn off the computer. I couldn't even figure that out before installing the Classic Shell. Why did Microsoft make it so difficult to use? Grrrrr...
Thanks so much!
Here it is, Jenny.
Janet, if you have that info already printed out, I'd love to see it. I have a few Eclipse students who really need to download that classic shell.
I'm using Windows 8 with Eclipse. I'm not having any issues. If you get a Windows 8 computer, Kelli, let me know. I'll tell you how to stop all of the annoying pop-ups and install the classic shell. My computer functions pretty much like a Windows 7 computer.
I've been running Version 6 on a Windows 8 computer since Windows 8 first came out (last fall?) and I don't have any issues with Eclipse. Just hate Windows 8! Had some issues with realtime stalling, but that bug is supposed to be fixed, but some of it depends on what other programs you have up and running at the same time as well - even with 4 gb of RAM. So I just don't open anything other than check my email on occasion and I don't have any issues.
Does anyone use Windows 8 with Eclipse at this point? I was hearing there were some problems with compatibility.
Cathy, I have a T430, but it's giving me a problem. Are you using Eclipse Version 6? Here's my problem, pasted from a FB post. If you use the split window in V6 and have no issues, please let me know.
For those of you who have a T430 ThinkPad, I'm having issues and need some help. What's happening is in Version 6.0.0.12, when I am using CM, and outputting to Bridge and Bridge Mobile - and I use the split screen for realtiming - when I try to global from my writer, my Auto-Brief pop-up will duplicate itself and appear in both screens and will sort of flicker. Also, my global won't take my macros from my writer, such as choose Global Magic choice 1 or add the next stroke, and my text will freeze even though I keep on writing. My outputs will freeze as well. My panic stroke won't work to get out of the global box, and I have to hit escape on my keyboard. The second I do that, it will revert to normal and spit out all the text. My Mimo monitor for my ABs isn't plugged into my computer.
You may want to check the translate tab before you start writing to make sure your compression is set to the correct mike. That's the only other thing I can think of.
