I have been scoping/proofing for court reporters for over 30 years. I actually started typing for them in the ‘80s. In between that time I earned my degree as a paralegal and worked for attorneys for several years and then returned to full-time scoping in 1990. I have experience in all areas of law. I have fast turnaround time and competitive prices. I am on Procat.
Scoping: $1.20 a page
Proofing : 50 cents a page
What is the workload you would want done, and in what timeframe? What sort of work do you have - depos, trials? Do you clean up the untranslates before you send it? Where are you located? I also use ProCat 10.
It normally takes me between 3 and 5 days for a day's worth of transcript, depending on what other work I have and the difficulty of the job. Arguments are longer than Q&A, of course. I normally do not work on weekends, but we can negotiate an upcharge for an over-the-weekend expedite. I work with or without audio, your choice. However, if listening to a major portion of the transcript is required by the content, I do charge a little bit more for that.
The quality of my work is excellent. Tell me any special preferences and I will incorporate them.
My page rate is $1.15 per regular page, $1.30 per page with audio. Expedites that are less than 3 days or over the weekend are 50% more ($1.75 per page regular, $1.95 per page with audio).
