That's great that you have such a supportive husband (and great son and great pets, too!) and understands your goal to become a court reporter. My boyfriend likewise is my best cheerleader (but I don't think he'd like me calling him a cheerleader! LOL!).
Congratulations on choosing to become a future court reporter. I'm a student too and want to finish by next year. I know we all have our different timelines, but that's the goal for me... and hopefully it'll happen.
I want to encourage you as a newer student to NEVER GIVE UP! Sometimes you'll really, really, really want to... but we CAN reach 225 wpm ONE DAY... but only IF we keep pressing on! Surround yourself with POSITIVE PEOPLE, especially at school. Stay away from the naysayers! :P
CSR Nation is a great site where we can find tons of inspiration, information, and plain old fun with those who understand what it is like to be a court reporting student... because they once were (now professionals) or still are treading the same path.
I have a blog -- stenonerd.blogspot.com -- that chronicles my journey in the court reporting program. Please check it out! I maintain this blog firstly as a great creative release for myself and secondly as an encouragement and way to connect with other court reporters, whether professional or student. Thanks in advance!
Hi, I am fairly new this site was well. I think its really great and very helpful. I attended court reporting school back in 1989-90 in Tampa, Fl. I had to quit do to certain issues, and now that my daughter is graduating from high-school this year, I have never had more incentive than I do now to get back into the field, the problem is I am not familar with all the new technology they have now. For now I am practicing on my old theory and will be returning to school in August. Hopefully I will be able to go directly into speed building instead of trying to learn a new theory. By the way, what theory are you learning. Also, can you tell me what machine you use? Welcome to CSR and good luck!
