At 17:47 on March 3, 2008, Deborah L. Willoughby said…: Thanks for getting back to me. First off, my writer isn't a USB. It's a 200 SRT with a serial adapter to what I think is an ethernet cord. When I go to device manager, I can't figure out which COM port it's supposed to be. I show COM1 and COM64 and then LPT1. But when I go to select one of those in the steno source window, it gives me an option from COM1 to COM 30. None of them work. That's only the first problem.

Problem 2: When I ordered digitalCAT, they guy said they would provide the theory dictionary with the software, but they didn't. I was using an earlier version of CaseCAT (like, 4 years ago) and can't find my original install disk to get the dictionary from. Arrrrrghhh! I'm sure I can call digitalCAT and get them to send me a dictionary (or at least I think I can) but that still doesn't solve my problem of not recognizing the writer.

I'm not sure what kind of serial adapter it is. All it has on it is the Stenograph logo. I saw in another thread where you said not to use the Keyspan serial adapter, but how do I know if that's what I have.

Please tell me where to start!
