I've been debating on getting a new phone for a long time now, and I think I'm finally ready. I"ve narrowed it down to the two. Just wondering what everyone's take is on the BlackBerry versus the iPhone? Anybody?

I've had my same prepaid phone w/ the very basics (only voice mail) for about 4 or 5 years now. I basically only use it for business calls and long distance calls, since there is no extra charge for that on my minutes, but rarely make very lengthy long distance calls. I would really like to start being able to check my e-mail from my phone and maybe have some type of calendar doodad in it, nothing more. And I'm not very good at working these high-tech products, so the easier to use the better.

Now, I haven't looked into the cost of service for either phone at all and am totally clueless about that. I think I've heard my techy sister mention she pays $100 a month for her iPhone -- yikes! I have to mention, again, I've had the same prepaid phone for 5 years. I buy a $40 prepaid card at the end of each month to load on my phone and have only went over my $40 limit twice in 5 five years. I'm very, very nervous about my purchase because my monthly phone bill is probably going to double, but now that I'm a CR I guess I deserve it, right?

So I'd love to hear everyone's pros and cons on the phones. Thanks in advance for all that reply!!

I guess if you want a bunch of useless features/apps you will never use, then, yeah, I'd go with the iCrap -- erh, iFart phone -- or whatever it's called . . . like Lisa said.
I also use AOL for my e-mail and when you get your Iphone :-) you'll see you just set it up in your settings who your provider is, your AOL password, and viola, you will get your e-mails on your phone...and it's not that long, certainly not 15 minutes. I have two AOL e-mail accounts and when I forward myself a message from one account to the other on my Iphone it comes as an e-mail within a minute.
Yes, apple is misleading you in that part, they shouldn't have called it "push" in the settings since it is obviously "pulling" every 15 minutes.

Either way, I have gmail set up to real push via an app.. which means my iphone does NOT check every x amount of time.. instead when someone sends me an email I get it instantly on my phone.

Hope that helps.

and yes, my iphone freaking rocks.. I laavs it!
Absolutely, 100%, no doubt, hands-down, the I-phone. 3Gs, if possible. Great apps. Large font and keyboard when turned sideways, Google, also houses your I-tunes music library....I could go on and on and on. I've had it for two years and it's the bomb!
Dude, like . . . I can't even type that fast.

Or MAYBE it's cuz your phone takes 10 - 15 minutes to "push" an e-mail notification to you that there's been a response. Just a guess, though.
No question, you will love the iPhone. Pay the $100. It's worth it. Hands down, beats all others on the market. I won't ever give mine up! And no, I've not experienced dropped calls or my e-mail not synching. Good luck!
