Afternoon, everyone!
We've been members of CSRNation for a few years now and are ready for professionals to take a look at our YouTube endeavor, The Closed Captioning Project.
We are playing with new ideas for closed captioning as well as captioning political speeches for the greater good of the Internet.
Any comments, suggestions, subscriptions would be greatly appreciated.

Good afternoon. Thank you for allowing me to join this wonderful group.
My name is Oscar Garzon. I am the Court Reporting Program Chair at New York Career Institute. I am looking for one or two Closed Captioning Instructors. If interested, please e-mail me at ogarzon@nyci.edu, or call me at 212-962-0002, ext 118. We have a beautiful lab specifically for teaching Closed Captioning with the BCS and ACCU CAP. We just need the professional instructor. Thank you and hope you all have a great day. Oscar Garzon
Hey, what the average rate for on-site captioners? I am a CART provider looking to make the transition and was just curious.
Thanks!!!!
Has anyone worked with Captions Unlimited Services to provide captioning?
Hi, Beth,
There is a group on Yahoo. It is called broadcastcaptioners@yahoogroups.com. They are pretty active. You will have to ask to join. I think you may be able to get a lot of information there. Also, I think there are some captioners on Linkedin.
Hello! I have been a freelance reporter on CaseCATalyst and want to make a switch and either do CART work or broadcast captioning. Any tips you can send my way would be appreciated! I am in Northern California.
Hi :) Anybody in the broadcast captioning field interested in communicating with me? I was a freelance RPR court reporter for 14 years, but had to give up the career because my precious daughter with cerebral palsy was born 8 years ago. Hence, I haven't worked in 8+ years. Surprisingly, I find out I can still write pretty darn well!! So the field of broadcast captioning/CART seems like the perfect answer for me, once I rebuild my speed and train of course. Please, can someone talk to me about the reality of what to expect in the field? I would appreciate it more than you know :) :) Thank you!!
