If you loved Where the Crawdads Sind, read Waiting for the Night Song. It takes place in New Hampshire, but has a similar feel to Crawdads. The main character is an entomologist working with the pine beetle, which got my attention since I live in Colorado and it's been such an issue here. This story goes deep into coming of age, immigration, and nature. Good read!

Anyone like nonfiction?  I just finished Educated by Tara Westover.  It's a memoir of a young woman growing up in a religious, off-grid, anti-government, sometimes violent household.  She overcomes a lot to leave her family and pursue an education (thus the title).  She does an amazing job relating her emotions and conflicted feelings/thoughts about living and leaving her world.

With "Stay at Home" still in place, I imagine we are all getting in a lot of reading! Libraries are still closed. I just paid $23 for three books on Amazon. Is anyone interested in a book exchange? Media mail is about $4 to send up to 3 lbs. of printed material. I have six books ready to exchange. Email me at debtarz@gmail.com if interested. (I can't upload the photo, but I can likely email it.) I have two James Patterson, a Harlan Coben, Jonathan Kellerman, John Grisham, and Gillian Flynn. I'd like to send all six in exchange for a minimum of four.

Everyone has to read Where the Crawdads Sing.  It is a wonderful book with descriptions that are terrific for everyone.  I loved it and know that everone in this group will love it as well.  It's a best seller and is just a great book.  Give it a try!  My earlier post was prior to reading the entire book, but it is a keeper for sure!

I got a recommendation from my daughter-in-law the other day to read Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owen, so since I was in between books, I went into Kindle and downloaded it.  I am only into about five chapters, but it is addicting from the start!  I was a little hesitant to download it without a sample and also since it's a first work by this author, but my daughter-in-law and I are pretty much on the same line when it comes to novels, so hit the download button, and I couldn't be more pleased so far.  The desription indicates that there are more to come by this author so I'll be looking out for those as well

Has anybody read anything by Robert R. McCammon? I've read "Boy's Life" and "Swan Song" within the last few months and really enjoyed both! He reminds me quite a bit of Stephen King. I would welcome any recommendations!

I just posted this book through email blast.  Just a mind blowing book about how crazy some people can actually be.  https://www.amazon.com/If-You-Tell-Unbreakable-Sisterhood-ebook/dp/...

I've never heard of The Warded Man. Dang it, that looks so good! Yet another book I want to read now! ;)

I just started re-reading The Warded Man, the first book of Peter V. Brett's Demon Cycle series. I recently bought the fifth and final book, but I decided to refresh my memory before starting it.

I finished A Court of Thorns and Roses recently and LOVED it!

I defintely want to read A Court of Thorns and Roses. I'm a sucker for retellings, so I'm hoping it'll hook me more! :)

Oh, I'll have to look that up! Sounds fun.

I read all types of fantasy depending on my mood. Sometimes I want a high fantasy with complex characters and fascinating political worlds and magic systems, but sometimes I just want a book with good characters that I fly through. :)
