Good luck to you, Millie.  You sound like a wonderful choice for a court reporter.  You already have worked in the field, you can read notes, you're now on a popular CAT system.

By sure to advertise yourself on CRF and Depoman as well.  CC might have a registry for scopists.  If you belong to NCRA, they have an area where scopists can make themselves known.

I am a new Scopist using Case Catalyst14 looking for a reporter who is willing to give me an opportunity to work with them. Years ago (before everything was computerized) I was taking court reporting classes and worked part-time as a notereader for two reporters.  I typed transcripts on an IBM Selectric typewriter.  When I was offered a job at a very good salary as administative assistant to the Deputy Superintendent of a high school district, my reporters told me to take it.  They said I would have pay raises, sick leave, vacation days, medical, etc., which they did not.  I took the job but no longer had the time to noteread.

I am now retired and have taken a refresher course in legal transcription.   I graduated from the U.S. Career Institute and I am ready to work.  I have the old-fashioned work ethic, which means I don't play until the work is done.  I will make every effort to get your job on time.

My name is Camilla, but everyone calls me Millie.

You can reach me at 928-580-8254 or whereverwepark@yahoo.com

I am a steno student and need to make some decisions about my next coursework. I am thinking about becoming a scopist, but here are some questions I have about scoping:

1. Would you be willing to share your thoughts with me on the future of scoping?

2.Do you expect opportunities for scopists to continue?

3.If so, what advice would you give me to prepare myself to become employed as a scopist?

I appreciate whatever insight you can provide.

Hello all.  I'm an Eclipse v5 scopist, able to read notes, and meticulous about punctuation and research. I currently work regularly with a freelance reporter, but I have room in my schedule for more work and am looking to fill my down time. Let me know if I can help you out with overflow or backlog work. If you need a scopist and have been on the fence about working with one, now's the time to take that step and regain some down time for yourself!

Case Catalyst Full Version with AudioSync Scopist

Hello,

My name is Cynthia Cueto.  I am a court reporting graduate from Bryan University in Los Angeles, California.

I am interested in obtaining a position as a scopist.

For the past year, I have been working as a scopist for two reporters, but my current goal is to obtain more employment and branch out within this field.

My experience includes working for the Ventura County Sherriff’s Department, Ventura, California as a transcriptionist for a substantial group of detectives for several years.

I am proficient in notereading, language, and grammar.  I have graduated with honors in the court reporting program at Bryan University.

As a scopist, I feel that I could provide you with quality work in a timely manner.  I am currently on the Case CATalsyt 14, professional full version with AudioSync.

Please feel free to contact me for any further information you may require.  You can reach me at
805 532-1545, cyndilou43@roadrunner.com.  I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you for your time and consideration,

Cynthia Cueto

Hi, Jean Marie.  Discussing rates is not allowed on this forum.

If you've already been doing dailies, why wouldn't you charge the same?  Maybe I'm missing something.  LOL

Comment by Christi Massey on May 20, 2013 at 12:17

I haven't heard of anyone charging any more than immediate rates on that.  It's the same thing, just a bit more immediate.  :)  Good luck on getting CM to work seamlessly, though.

Do you mean you'll be going from regular turnaround to immediate turnaround or you'll actually be on-site with her?
