Rumor that LiveNote will use the Bridge protocols to refresh on StenoCast ... 9 Replies

Anyone heard this?  I'm trying to find a moment to call someone at LiveNote and see if this is true.  That would be so great, if it's possible.Continue

I edit from my writer, too, quite a bit, and I was so annoyed and embarrassed yesterday!  I could pick conflicts from my writer, and it would change on my screen, but did nothing on his computer!  :(

Do we have to check "edit" every time, or is it a one-time thing?

Two weeks ago I noticed that Bridge wasn't refreshing, and it made me so mad that on a break I stopped and went in again.  Sure enough, I had forgotten to check it.  Now I'm really making a point to make sure it's checked because I'm constantly editing from my writer with all my RT macros!

Also, I notice you have a tablet in one of the pictures on your page.  Is that the iPad with MyView?  If so, would please you tell me how that system works?

Jenny, you're my hero!  Thanks so much!  I had it checked for only one COM port, the one I didn't use, of course, but not the two ports that I'm actually using - duh!  Just went in to check the boxes.  Yay!  I was so annoyed yesterday!  Thanks again!!! **doing the Happy Dance**  :D

That was my setup from my RT job yesterday.  Worked great!  You don't need to do anything special on your loaner or attorney's laptop.

On your own computer when you add Bridge to your output and put in what com port you use, there are some things you need to check off.  That's one of them.

Hi, Jenny.  I don't remember seeing anything about checking "edit," so maybe I didn't.  If I did not, do I need to uninstall and reinstall?  And by "my computer," you mean the laptop I let the client borrow, right?

Quyen, are you positive you checkmarked "edit" when you are setting up Bridge on your own computer?  It should refresh, but you need to check that.

Is there a way to refresh the client's computer to reflect our corrections/changes in Bridge? I'm on Eclipse.  I notice it's not showing the changes if I make them from my laptop or executing macros from my writer.  Thanks!

Oh, I hope that's it!  There are so many little things like that we're just supposed to know about.  It would be nice if the tech support guys would run through these things when reporters call with issues.

You'll find those USB Root Hubs listed in the Device Manager.  Right-click on each one (there'll be a bunch of them), choose Properties, Power Management tab, and UNCHECK "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."  You'll want to do that on your loaner computers and any attorney computers you hook up to if the attorney will let you.

If that turns out to solve the problem, check back here and let us all know so we can spread the word!  Good luck.
