Yeah, same to you!! I saw your post, but haven't had a chance to read it. Not getting much work done if I'm replying/reading messages on CSR nation all day.
It's really nice to meet you here! It sounds like you're an official in Riverside County? I've contemplated going to court for many years and just have not done it. Both my kids are grown and there are so many options, really. Are they currently hiring and if so where? Where are you currently working?
I've done depos for 21 years. I love to do LiveNote and tackle challenging jobs.
In regards to the site, I saw a note that I had my comments on my own page. I think I figured it out that I'm supposed to send the comment from the other person's page...right?
How hold is your son Clay that's in CR school? That is awesome that he is following in your footsteps. The "Ron" in one of your pics is Ron who again? I remember him from way way back. I think I went to CR school with his wife, who stopped reporting shortly after they were married (if I have the right person.) Is your son learning Mark K's theory? Both of my kids want NOTHING to do with reporting. My daughter says she doesn't want to have to work as hard as I do. Can you believe that? Well, she just graduated from CSUSB with a BS and is going to get her teaching credential so she's doing just fine. She is currently on the sub list at Linfield and both of the Calvary Chapel Murrieta campuses.
My daugther graduated from Murrieta Calvary in '01 and my son went there through his sophmore year. Maybe are kids know each other? My daughter also has coached over the last five years at Calvary in soccer and in basketball.
Thanks for the info...I think I'll give Darla a call just to chat and see if I could possibly fill in when needed. I still like taking depos, but I love what I get to hear when I do DOJ Grand Jury hearings, and it's pretty interesting, so yeah, I'd be open to court. I would love to get together with you for lunch or just coffee and a visit...you seem like an awesome person and a great mother :-) some day soon we'll just have to make it happen!
Did you get the mail I sent you on this site? It didn't look like it was sent properly, so I'm cutting & pasting it. Here it is:
Hi Tami, This site is new to me so I'm learning how to send e-mails, etc.....I hope you get this!
I remember you were my reporter in court way back when (2000) and Karen McKinney was my attorney. I filed a "Motion to Relocate" so that I could move with my kids to VA to be with my love, Tim.....our world was crushed when the judge said the kids get to decide (after $2K in psychiatric counseling for the kids!) It was devastating and we didn't know what to do, so we broke up for 2 1/2 years. It was pure hell without each other....but our timing wasn't right and God had other plans. We got back together in Dec '03 and got married six weeks later. He moved to California in the summer and we've been inseperable ever since...twu wuv....God's timing is not my timing ,that's for sure, but I know all things work together for good....so don't think you're wrong, you were quite right about me wanting to move out of state.....just couldn't do it. My ex (Jeff Rippey) is still involved with the kids, so I guess that's good. Well, hope you're doing well.....do you think the court house in Temecula needs any part-time reporters??? I'd be willing to fill in when needed. What do you think? e-mail me at aprilgedney@ca.rr.com Thanks!
Hey Tami, My son Scott Rippey was in the first graduating class from Calvary Chapel of Murrieta in '99. David & Cheyne Rippey graduated from MVHS in '03 and '04, and Alana was a freshman in '03 but she moved to Vista Murrieta and graduated in '06.......ask your kids if they might know them by the years and last name.....it's a small town! :-)
I just found something with the correct info on it. April took and passed her CSR one week after turning 19. I'm terrible! Her birthday is May 9th - her name is April!!! She passed her RPR at 18. She also ranked fourth in the state on that CSR exam, and my brother John ranked sixth on his CSR. John was 19 at the time. Geez!
My poor page needs major tweaking, but at least I figured it out!
I took the CM and CA CSR about two or three weeks after I turned 21 on October 29th. We flew down to LA for the CSR, and the CM was in San Francisco.
My sister was even younger, though. I think she had just turned 19 in April and took the CSR in May. She and my mom flew down to LA together. She took and passed the CM six months later. I'll ask her tomorrow and correct that if I'm wrong. Hey, it was a long time ago!
I just have a lot of back tripts to do. You want busy, look at Marge. YIKES!! Three more medium sized tripts -- and all the invoicing, and I'm caught up! Can't remember the last time that happened.
Clay and all his briefs just make my head spin! Haven't been able to get "need" into my writing yet, but I can wait on that one for now. Made and make I don't even want to hear about yet. My head might explode. LOL
Had to be pink! Couldn't let you down! ;)
I'm down to 10 tripts, but 7 are ready for proofing. I delivered 8 yesterday, 3 of which were just copies of previously ordered ones. And 4 earlier in the week.
None invoiced yet -- so that's next.
Hi Tami, Yes, I vaguely remember that you are a reporter in Temecula at the court house, but I'm not sure I know much more about you except that you have five kids, and am I right that you go to Calvary Chapel Murrieta? How else do we know each other? You have a big beautiful family! Children are definitely a blessing from the Lord, and we are both very blessed, in deed......
That Miss Brenda is too kind if she said anything good about me. I sure do enjoy sharing Eclipse info with her. We're both completely obsessed with changing our writing for the better - and shorter. I have so many projects on my desk at the moment. My conflicts, my prefix and suffix table, my phonetics table - I like to gather as much from other reporters as I can and then pick out what works for me. As an example, Breck Record's prefix and suffix dictionaries he shared back in October on the NCRA web site. Now I've got Julie Benmark's to look at as well. But how can I sit down and finish these tasks when there's so much good forumming to do???
Seriously, you must have some excellent time management tricks to share - I'd sure love to hear them!
It is pretty much glamour 24/7 here. Listen I have packed on 20 pounds since I started this job. I used to be skinny! I'm now joining the ranks of those working on dropping them and soon! I just started in earnest, so I'm hoping to be totally back to myself by Anaheim. Woohooooo!
Sure love reading your posts on depoman - I've copied many of your steno tips and e-mailed them to myself. I really enjoy hearing about your son and his reporting adventures. My sister and brother are reporters as well. It's nice to have some reporters in the family.
Wow, your page is all spruced up! I guess I will have to start giving mine a look-see. Not wishing to be outdone and all! LOL
I love your pictures! I should post some of me sitting here in my robe with my glasses tied around my head with an orange shoestring...which they are because my glasses are missing one of the arms that goes over the ear...so I tied an orange shoestring to the nose piece and then I tie that around my head like a ninja.

Good to see you here. Like the picture of you and Clay.
Yeah, I might have to kick some ass and take names over there.
