The major kinks are always worked out before the CD is released. The archiving of ABs is in the newer version, so that's not an issue for you. It's an option in 5, where all the ABs, used and unused, are archived so you can look through the later to see if there are any you want to add to your job or even main dix.
Don't be shy about going to 5.
Julie, would you recommend using the .15 update after installing the CD? I had a problem with conflicts during RT, at least it appeared so, and they are resolved after updating from the site. Many people are hesitant to using those, but in this case, I think it should be recommended. What has your experience been?
Brenda, what do you mean by archived? I'm still on Ver. 4.3, so maybe mine doesn't do that, whatever it is. Eclipse has not even sent me the 5 disk yet. Is Jeremy still working out any major kinks? I'm always reluctant to update because I don't want to fix what's just baby broken.
Thank you! I had that column so minimized that you could barely see the "C" and I just didn't know that's where I was supposed to be looking anyways.
I knew I'd deleted them before out of a Job Dict. but just didn't know how or where or when - or anything else evidently.
I posted this on the Total Eclipse Facebook Group after getting the question here, so if you're not on FB, here's a better explanation with a picture!
I'm a huge fan of Auto Brief. But sometimes, while PAEL was a lifesaver when I was writing out "paleontologist" on this particular job, I don't necessarily want to save it permanently in the job dictionary for this case.
To search for and possibly delete Auto Briefs from your job dictionary, press F9 and choose the job dictionary. Then click on the "Comment" column header or title bar above the column. You may have to move to the right on your screen to see it. The Auto Briefs will have an "AB" in the "Comment" column. Just click on any entry and press Delete to take it out of your job dictionary.
Christy, if you do F9 and open a dictionary, there's a column header at the top, over to the right, that says COMMENT. If you click on that header or title bar at the top of the column, it will sort the entries by comment. Most likely you don't have a bunch of comments in your dictionary entries, but as of about 4.3, all the Auto Brief entries come with an "AB" in the comment column so you'll know which ones were Auto Briefs. You may not want to keep them permanently with your other job dix entries.
That's excellent! LOL
I had a friend who had the ABs follow every job, even without job dictionaries -- and before they were archived. Didn't think job dictionary was involved because I'm always happy to have ABs follow when they're the same case. :) Didn't mean to scare you, Quyen, and I didn't mean BUG; I just meant bug, baby one.
