While I'm editing, my global just began doing something odd. When I global something, it pops my cursor to the end of the document and I have to try to find where I was. It must be something I've done but can't figure it out . . . Any ideas? Thx.

It's a release candidate. He's got one more update, he says, to 4.3.0.4 because a funky thing was found, but it's nothing that is interfering with my using it.

About halfway down the updates list. I never understood why the new ones are so far down. Why aren't they at the top where they're visible???

My understanding is that 4.3 is not officially a release version yet. It's available for download as a development version. One thing they're waiting for is updating the documentation. Jeremy says 4.3.0.3 is actually what will be the release version.

Hi all ~ I have read some things about 4.3 (esp. the reject/suggest new brief in auto-brief ~ how exciting!), but I just went on Advantage's website and can't find it ~ is it available yet? Has anyone updated to it? If so, can you tell me how to also.
Thanks!

I redefined V to PageDn! I've never used the scan keystroke combos. Might have to make some new hyperkeys! :)
Comment by Marla Sharp on April 18, 2009 at 10:10
Yeah, the R/Q thing works only in hyperkeys. I love the R for reverse scan and V for forward scan. That little menu that pops up has some awesome stuff in it, stuff I need to find usually quickly.

Marla, I had no idea R did that. I redefined it as my PageUp hyperkey because I couldn't see a need for that upscan menu, I guess. Great tip!!

Another point. That is using hyperkeys, right, Marla? Kelli, if you aren't using hyperkeys, that won't work for you, but Shift Alt G will.

Kelli, you should also be able to just hit R, then Q. R brings up the upscan menu, and Q goes to the last question.

The Shift Alt G will work great, in RT or not. It's not a realtime macro -- it's just like what you were asking for, keystrokes for the computer. The other would be calling it up from your writer. Use the Shift Alt G. Sounds like you'll be happier with it.

But if you want to learn to do the RT macro, go into Eclipse, Alt U to get into User Settings, click Edit and then Macros. Scroll to Find Previous Question - RT. Click Edit. Click Dictionary entry. That should bring up a steno emulator. Put in the stroke(s) you want. That's it!

If you don't have that in your list of macros, you need to download the Realtime Kit from the Eclipse site.

Those are the directions for any of the RT macros you may want to use.
