I am set to take the WKT April 11 and was wondering if there was anywhere to get past exams to study with. I have the RPR prep book and did one of the practice tests in the back and need a lot more. Help. Thanks in advance.

Lately, I've been feelin' like a hamster on a wheel. I'm trying to work more so I can take up some slack in our financial situation. But the more I make, the more I have to pay out. It's craziness.
I pay quarterly, and yet I still owe taxes. And then on top of it, I'm trying to make more than I did last year because I need to make the ends meet, but then I think I'll end up owing more taxes. Wah!!
The economy is not my friend at the moment.
Well, just venting.…

Has anyone noticed that often you get an email regarding very enticing international work or heavy realtime work and the individual doesn't reach out to you when you have called?

Hi,
I have had nothing but problems with this machine. Can anybody help. I think I got a bum machine or something and unfortunately I rushed into it without looking at what else is available. I have already invested a lot of money and right now I am stuck at a stand still. Extremely frustrated.
Even the battery(s) won't hold a charge. Can anybody recommend a reputable company that will take a trade-in for something more reliable and give me some tips and some names of machines that…

During the depo the hearing reprensentative referred to me on the record "I'm just showing the transcriptionist...." Normally I would not even consider putting (sic) behind the word transcriptionist, but this is the same hearing rep that pulled a fast one a few months back where he was instructed by his law firm and also the applicant's law firm to send me the doctor's report so I could get all the spellings, which he was upset about having to copying, so he called my firm the next day and…

I was in a depo last week (Vol III of who knows how many) when the witness started having a panic attack. She didn't have one or two, but three attacks throughout the day. Not only that, she dumped/spilled her water on the opposing attorney. I'm pretty sure she did this on purpose, bc she told him she hated him right before the water went all over his papers and his lap. Am I supposed to put anything in the transcript regarding this? He didn't say anything about wanting it in there.

I have been working from my living room and my couch for quite some time now because we have beenrevamping our house completely. Finally, yesterday, I went and bought a new office chair and all that fun stuff. My husband doesn't think I'll use it all though. lol.
So this brings me to my question that I was just wondering where a lot of reporters work when they're not in a depo? Do you work on the couch, at your kitchen table, or in a home office?
I am just hoping I will…

SCREAM/FIGHT
Imagine you are on a New York street in the wee hours of the morning. As you walk by an alley, you see a man stabbing a woman and grabbing the purse she's clutching. She's near death from the many blows he's delivered. Do you scream, "Stop"? Do you yell for others to help? Do you attempt to fight off the attacker to save the woman before it's too late? Do you walk by and do nothing? Surely you would offer some kind of aid.
Why when you see people causing the…

Lori and Toto have returned to Kansas from Costa Rica! I'm so thankful for all the time I spent on the organic farm - but I'm divorced now, and back to my maiden name - Lori Byrd ... and happy to run back and forth between the States and Latin America for work.
I'd love to find more work in Central and South America. My Spanish-speaking is a valuable asset, I believe, for running around Latin America and communicating with all involved in doing depositions.
There are several…

Sorry, guys, but I'm a complete nerd with this type of thing. I, frankly, prefer the old-fashioned, "Just give me a call if you need me."
Anyway, I'm trying to join modern technology - really!
So I got an Email yesterday saying that 3-4 jobs were available for my area for today. I replied to the Email, saying I'd like the job, but didn't get a reply. I also asked for someone to perhaps call me, but did not receive a call. I would have liked the job.
Can someone PLEASE…

I must say, sometimes I think attorneys are psychic. Have you noticed how when one attorney starts canceling depos, then all the other depositions on calendar start canceling. It's like one attorney spooked them all, and they're all headed for the cancellation cliff.
It's amazing how that works. And I notice it's not just for one agency. It's like all the attorneys get together and decide, okay, Wednesday, we're all not going to work and if we have depos scheduled, we're just going…

I am curious if anyone has ever attended one of these speed building seminars? There is one coming up in a few weeks in Sacramento, and I am very curious. However, I am not sure that the money would be well spent. I am sure that he is not handing out natural talent at the door! lol
I only have seen the testimonials on his website. I am want some real life ones! Let me know!
Thanks and cheers!

I decided to try to offset the monthly costs of owning E-Tran by offering to the CSR Nation community the opportunity to transfer their files from ASCII into E-Transcript for the low fee of $10 per file.
So far I had one of you take me up on the offer, April, and she has posted her experience on here.
If you need one or two or more ASCII files transferred into E-Tran, check out my listing under Classifieds and just go to the website I set up. It couldn't be simpler and I guarantee…
